Scope of work:

  • We worked on the full visual identity for the festival: from logos to fonts, from colors to illustrations & layouts. The goal was to create a refreshed look after 2 years of the pandemic, but still keep the branding recognizable.

  • We designed the following visual elements:

    Posters & flyers, social media templates, logo animation, GIPHY stickers, animated social post, digital out of homes, banners

The creative brief

De Leuke Festival (meaning: The Fun Festival), has always been a festival that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The lineup includes nostalgic pop hits, 2000’s hiphop, a bit of dancehall and a lot of funky disco. It’s all about having fun with your friends, singing along with your favorite hits, while still being a bit trendy and creative.

The 2023 edition was the first edition of the festival after the pandemic. We wanted to make sure the artwork still looked recognizable, but also fresh and renewed.

For the campaign illustrations we chose the theme ‘dusting yourself off’ after the pandemic: it showed old dusty statues getting festival ready with some new swag. The clients wish was to include 7 different quotes for 7 different posters, about what the festival was, and so we designed the statues accessories around those themes.

Since there was no budget available to do all the graphic design work as well, we build the graphic identity like a set of stickers: this way it was easier to mix and match de illustrative details, and for the marketing team to design social posts themselves.
