Venture Cafe is a worldwide network of innovators, with community hubs all over the world. They organize events to facilitate innovation, both locally as well as internationally. That’s why their motto is ‘Connect Innovators to make things happen.’

The project started very simple, with the request for a print design for a notebook, as a giveaway on SXSW. A notebook is a place to gather ideas, not only the good ones, but the bad, messy, idealistic, uncomfortable ones as well. All ideas. The team and I wanted to visualize this, by showing some sort of wordcloud, but in a visually appealing way.

Out of the 3 concepts the team chose to pursue this idea of stickers & stamps, similar to the things you collect while traveling. In the base design there are some words and ‘stickers’ included, but you can make the notebook your own with stickers provided with the notebook.

The team really connected with the idea, and the notebooks were such a hit that they used the stickers digitally to use on socials and their own network as well.
